Websites That Drive Business

Websites That Drive Business

Make your website work for you.

Having a super awesome website is essential for any business that’s looking to make more sales (who isn’t?) You want something that makes you stand out from the competition and really sets you apart. But what makes an excellent website excellent?

Here are 3 simple rules to creating and establishing a great website.

Keep it simple Make sure your website makes sense. You want to be creative with your website…but not so creative that people can’t find their way around. Keep in mind that people are familiar with standard navigation and if they find it difficult to navigate around your site, chances are they will just leave! You want to make your website as accessible as possible so you’re driving people towards your business, not away from it.

Keep it fast Page speed is an essential factor not only in determining whether or not someone stays on your website, but whether or not it appears high in search results. Make sure your website isn’t full of massive photos or videos – optimise everything.

Keep it clear Ensure your website is full of clear call to actions at every step. Your customer should know exactly what it is they need to do when they get to your website. Do they need to contact you? Do they need to shop? Do they need to sign up to a newsletter? Make sure they know what they’re doing and why they are doing it.

If your website isn’t checking these boxes and it needs an overhaul, fear not! Your local PDC studios are full of incredible web designers who would love to work with you to see your business thrive on the web – get in touch with us today!

Creating Awesome Content

Creating Awesome Content

Content is King.

With information readily available everywhere you look in the digital age, a pressing question a lot of business owners have is how do I make my content stand out – how do I make sure it’s seen? Here are a few ideas on how to keep your content relevant, exciting for your target audience, and visible in the places it needs to be seen.

Know your target audience. Knowing exactly who you’re talking to is essential when creating content. If you don’t know who you’re talking to, how will you know what to say – and how to say it? Evaluate your business to see who it is you’re marketing to and who needs your product most. And then develop a persona for your ideal client – what is their every day life like, what are the things they need to know from you? Which brings us to…
What are your FAQs? What questions do your team get asked every day? If you preempt the things your client needs to know you will present to them as a true expert in your field. And people trust the experts! The more trust you have, the more sales you make. It’s simple! People buy from businesses who know what they’re talking about.
Speak with your company voice. When you’re creating content you need to know your brand, inside and out. Brand is so much more than just a logo – it’s the feelings and emotions invoked when somebody thinks of your business. Is your business formal? Casual? Friendly? Humourous? Establishing a strong brand voice and speaking with it is all part of the essential process of building trust with your clients.
Subject first, then research. Before you write your content, make a plan. This is super important because if you don’t know what the goal of your content is, you can’t expand on it! So choose a relevant topic and then research around it before you write anything.
Make it visually appealing! People love to look at pretty things and they’re way more likely to pay attention to what you have to say if it’s not just a big chunk of text. Grab some awesome imagery to brighten up your content and make people want to read it!

Meet Mark from Sampson Rural Fencing…
Recently we had the privilege of meeting and working alongside Mark and Karen, founders of Sampson Rural Fencing. Mark is truly an expert in his field, with over 17 years experience in the industry. He has a passion for creating rural fences that last the test of time.
He needed to get the word out there in the local community and let them know he was here to help, but he wasn’t sure how to start…
We had plenty of ideas to help. We began the process with creating a

* logo and branding

this flowed onto developing

* a website
* business cards
* leaflets and corflute signs

Now the word is well and truly out there! Thanks for letting us be part of your project Mark and Karen – we love working with you both!

Basic Design Tips

Basic Design Tips

You don’t have to be a graphic designer to make things look amazing, follow these 5 tips to get you started…
but don’t panic if it all seems too much, we have a huge team of creative designers that can get your next project looking amazing!

1. Have a plan. Before you start, have a goal, make sure you know what you want your marketing material to say, keep the message clear and keep it simple – stick to the plan!

2. Make a mood board – This will help you to find a common colour palette or theme that can then be applied to a project to bring cohesion. Use different tones of the same colour for consistency by adjusting brightness for contrast.

3. Fonts – Pick 2 fonts, one for your headings and one for your body text, choose fonts that complement each other, and that are in line with your brand.

4. White Space – Don’t be afraid of space. Make sure each of your elements have room to breathe. The elements (photos, text and logos) can end up competing against each other when you try to fill the entire space.

5.Fresh eyes. Recharge your batteries and take a break. Come back and have another look later with fresh eyes.
